A study of French firms found no significant difference in productivity between labor-managed and conventional firms.

“Overall, the GLS estimates suggest that in most industries there is no significant productivity difference between labor-managed and conventional firms. This result is in keeping with existing studies. In only one industry, Paper and Wood, is there a significant difference—one that is in favor of worker cooperatives.”
